Helpmefind (HMF) Co Ltd is a "not for profit" private company, which launched in 2005 with the sole aim of being a "Free to use, Free to subscribe" web based portal operating under the name www.helpmefind.org.uk . The service is a web based contact portal for adopted, fostered, split families for family and relatives.

Helpmefind, is self funded by the HMF directors and uses no outside resources. The HMF staffs are supplied from the other companies which the HMF directors own.

The whole HMF ethos is one of: putting something back into the community. Therefore, no funding other than, that which is internally self-generated is used. The directors have invested over £95000 in the HMF service which can be varied by the company's accountants; Rowland Hall. Grovedell House, 15 Knightswick Road,
Canvey Island, Essex SS8 9PA

All the HMF staff are paid, via the trustees other businesses, but the staff whilst on HMF duty are left to work on their own initiative and it is their ideas, which often decides the direction and moves the HMF service on.

All funding, from the initial inception and data base development, through to the day to day expenses, have been donated by the HMF directors, to date the figure is in excess of £95,000.

The HMF staffs are instrumental in deciding the direction and duties of the actual service. Indeed, they decided that HMF should be available at every library throughout the UK. They choose the method and the manner in which we approached the libraries. They also decided the design of the leaflets best suited and the most economic distribution method, to achieve our goals.

As all HMF funds are self generated, the control of all financial issues are of paramount importance. We apply the same strict commercial approach to the HMF project, as we do to any other company we are involved with. Indeed, Helpmefind (HMF) did not have a bank account until December 2012, this ensured that all of the initial costs were met and were done in a remote manner, to eliminate any potential financial mistake or unnecessary administrative costs.

Helpmefind is an idea, which was borne out of the difficulty experienced, in tracing family members, on a remote and free to use basis. Lots of sites offer "gene tracing" and "family tree services" but there is no site, other than HMF, which allows the subscribers to talk to each other, via the computer screens, whilst ensuring their true identity and physical location are kept secret.

Everyone within HMF, achieve satisfaction from the knowledge that they are helping people answer the questions, which so many of them have.

This type of award process helps our staff, identify that they are doing something right, in a direct and hands on manner. Rather than working with other charities or community-based companies, we decided to build and developed one, Helpmefind.org.uk, ourselves.

The Helpmefind Company has now been registered (2012) as a not for profit company and is currently applying for full charitable status. We have appointed our charity assessing agents and hope to submit our application in early January 2013.
