I have found out that he was named Michael Andrew - but not sure how he was registered with surname. I know both my mother and baby were taken to Stockton and Thornaby Maternity Hospital at that time - as my mother had placed the baby in a neighbours shelter - knowing that they would take care of him. I believe he was then adopted maybe in the midlands or west of England. He did try to contact my mum (who lived in Australia) - via the friend that found my brother - her name was Mrs Agnes O'Connor - however she has since passed away. My mum however - according to my sister who also lives in Australia - did not wish any contact. I have always felt a sense of loss in my life - as I now know that I heard my mum giving Birth to Michael Andrew - but I thought it was a cat in the night. I would dearly love to meet him before I get too old. My mum was a very strict and hard person - and it is only now that she has passed on that I feel confident enough to try to contact him.
