- I just found out that my mother had a daughter who was born and adopted in the UK at a Salvation Army hospital between 1965 and 1966. I would love to find her. I always dreamed of having a sister never knowing that I actually had one. My grandparents were very strict and embarrassed about my mum getting pregnant out of wedlock and she was not allowed to keep her. My mum has kept pictures of the day she was born hidden all this time. Even though my mum did not talk about her, she was truly loved and longed for.
